    I April 2007 we visited with friends who owned a small condo in the Country Garden complex. Since we had three people in my family, we couldn't stay with the friend. The friends were able to book a room for us. I was expecting a room with either two double beds or a queen and a foldout, but the room was large and had three twin beds. I was impressed that the doors were secured by cardkeys, and the western style bathroom was finished in marble and clear glass shower doors. Service was above average, but only a few of the staff spoke english and some spoke only Mandarin

    I didn't read reviews before staying at this hotel, but after reading them just now I was horrified to see how other guests had been treated, spouses accused of being prostitutes, etc. There is no call for this in a good hotel. Though I saw no evidence of this, I was there only one night and spent much of the time in the room.

    I liked the hotel. I liked the grounds. I liked the public area. I was there for a conference that normally uses only very good hotels, so I was confident that this would be a good hotel (and it is). I stayed on the executive floor, and the room was very pleasant. I could tell from the floorplan on the back of the door that I had one of the smallest rooms on the floor, but it was still quite sufficient for me, and it was very well appointed. The executive lounge was dead most of the time, except for the breakfast buffet.
