My first business trip to southern China. Had a supplier book the hotel. Was told the hotel was situated on a hillside within a gated community of expensive similarly styled villa type mansions. The area was very safe. It is located 40 minutes from the busy downtown. Taxi could take you to the downtown for shopping etc for about 120RMB. Was told that there was an entertainment district about 10 minutes away by taxi (unconfirmed).
Food at the hotel was good especially in the Chinese "Country Kitchen" at the far end of the hotel. The Cantonese cuisine was very good. The other restaurant off of the lobby serves more western style food

This is a fun hotel except that the bed is a bit hard for me. But if you wear youself out having fun in China, you won't care.

Came down for a visit with some government agencies. Right during the middle of the Trade Fair resulting in most rooms being sold out except for the expensive rooms. This property has been around but the recent remodeling has been very well done. Rooms are very nice, I was in a suite, and completely equiped with all mod cons.
We ate at the Chinese restaurant, the more casual one which is separate from the main Chinese restaurant. This one has the various noodle specialties from the South of China in addition to the usual Guangdong/Cantonese treats. Recommended and not expensive.
